Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled CT Technologist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography (CT) scans and ensuring patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of medical imaging techniques, anatomy, and physiology to provide accurate diagnostic evaluations. The CT Technologist will have OR experience and knowledge collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT scans according to established protocols and procedures, ensuring high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort.
  • Administer contrast materials as needed, monitoring patients for any adverse reactions.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other medical staff to discuss scan results and assist in diagnostic evaluations.
  • Maintain equipment functionality by performing routine checks, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating maintenance as necessary.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Document all imaging procedures accurately in patient records.
  • Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and participate in ongoing education.

Experience

  • Proven experience in medical imaging, specifically with CT scans
  • Experience with mammography, PET scans, or X-Ray is a plus.
  • Current registration with A.R.R.T. is required.
  • CT License
  • Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required
  • Current certification with the Texas Department of Health (CMRT) is required.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to diagnostic imaging.
  • Familiarity with operating within an Operating Room environment.
  • Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations effectively while maintaining patient care standards.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals effectively.

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s Preferred
  • Graduate of education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section.

CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE

  • Current registration with A.R.R.T. is required.
  • CT License
  • Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required
  • Current certification with the Texas Department of Health (CMRT) is required.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
