Medical Technologist

This is a Contract position in Houston, TX posted May 19, 2025.

Pride Health is seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Technologist to support lab operations in a fast-paced hospital environment. This role involves overseeing lab inventory, managing supply systems, and performing critical lab testing with a focus on Hematology, Chemistry, and Urinalysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and interpret general lab tests, including Hematology, Chemistry, and Urinalysis
  • Manage and replenish patient supply inventory across acute, critical, and ambulatory care areas
  • Oversee Omnicell, OptiFlex, and Floor Stock Cart systems for cost and charge capture accuracy
  • Coordinate with nursing teams to resolve charge discrepancies and enhance compliance
  • Generate and analyze monthly operational, productivity, and financial performance metrics
  • Lead operational meetings with nursing management
  • Ensure appropriate par levels, identify supply trends, and recommend process improvements
  • Assist with financial oversight and reporting in accordance with departmental budgets

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Nursing, Healthcare, Engineering, or related technical field – Required
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) – General certification – Required
  • 3–4 years of experience working in Hematology and Chemistry in a clinical laboratory setting
  • Experience with EPIC Beaker LISPreferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Omnicell, and inventory systems (e.g., PeopleSoft)

Additional Details:

  • Location: Houston, TX 77094
  • Schedule: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Pay Rate: $50 – $52 per hour

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
